Application:
1. Wire and cable industry (core application)
Oxygen-free copper rod (OFHC):
Used to manufacture electrical copper wire (such as enameled wire, power cable, communication cable), requiring high conductivity (≥101% IACS) and low oxygen content (≤10ppm).
The copper rod produced by the updrawing method can be directly made into fine copper wire through the subsequent wire drawing process.
Low-oxygen copper rod:
Suitable for scenarios with slightly lower conductivity requirements but cost sensitivity (such as building wiring).
2. Electronic and electrical industry
High-precision copper alloy rod:
Such as tin-phosphor bronze (C5191, C5210) is used for connectors, terminals, relays and other electronic components.
Copper-nickel alloy (white copper) is used for resistors and thermocouple compensation wires.
Special-shaped copper materials:
Produce square, hexagonal and other cross-section profiles through customized crystallizers for radiators, conductive bars, etc.
3. Hardware and bathroom industry
Copper rod/tube blank:
Processed into faucet valve cores and bathroom accessories (corrosion-resistant and antibacterial).
Brass (H59, H62) is used for locks, gears, and decorative parts.
Hollow pipes:
Some upward-pulling units can produce thin-walled tube blanks for refrigeration pipelines, capillaries, etc.
4. New energy and high-end manufacturing
Photovoltaic and lithium battery copper materials:
Ultra-fine copper wire for photovoltaic welding strips, high-purity copper strip blanks for lithium battery tabs.
Special alloys:
For example, copper-chromium alloy (CuCr) is used for vacuum switch contacts, and copper-iron alloy (CuFe) is used for magnetic components.
5. Other applications
Art casting:
Copper rods for copper sculptures and handicrafts.
Industrial accessories:
Wear-resistant copper alloy parts such as bearing bushings and valve components.
Product Features:
1. Short process and efficient production
Integrated molding:
Smelting → casting → molding is completed continuously, eliminating multiple processes such as traditional hot rolling and forging, shortening the production cycle.
Quick cooling:
The water-cooled crystallizer realizes rapid solidification of molten metal, grain refinement, and high production efficiency (such as the production speed of copper rods can reach 10~20 meters/minute).
2. Energy saving and environmental protection
Low energy consumption:
Directly cast from molten metal, it saves 30%~50% energy compared with traditional rolling process.
Low oxidation loss:
Closed smelting (with protective gas or charcoal covering), copper liquid oxidation rate <0.5%, and the yield rate is as high as 98% or more.
Emission reduction:
No high-temperature rolling link, reducing smoke and exhaust gas emissions.
3. High purity and high performance of products
Ultra-low oxygen content:
The oxygen content of oxygen-free copper rod is ≤10ppm (national standard TU1 level), and the conductivity is ≥101% IACS, which is suitable for high-end wires and cables.
Dense structure:
Rapid cooling inhibits grain coarsening, reduces pores and inclusions, and improves mechanical properties (such as tensile strength and ductility).
4. Flexible and diverse product specifications
Multi-shape adaptation:
By replacing the crystallizer, round rods, flat billets, square bars, hexagonal bars and other special-shaped materials (usually Φ8~50mm in diameter) can be produced.
Multi-alloy compatibility:
In addition to pure copper, brass (H62, H65), bronze (tin phosphor bronze), nickel silver (BFe10-1-1) and other alloys can be produced.
5. Small batch customization advantage
Low-cost switching:
Suitable for small batch and multi-variety production (such as special alloys or non-standard sizes), flexible equipment adjustment.
High-precision control:
The automated system adjusts the temperature and traction speed in real time to ensure tolerance accuracy (such as copper rod diameter tolerance ±0.1mm).
6. Compact equipment and low maintenance
Small footprint:
Compared with horizontal continuous casting or rolling production lines, the equipment has a compact structure and is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Long crystallizer life: Made of high thermal conductivity copper alloy, it is easy to maintain and has low replacement cost.
